THEME : Building Compassionate Communities
Many patients on palliative care, especially those who are terminally ill, wish to spend the last days of their lives at home. The main caregivers are usually their family members, who need to be trained so that they will have a basic level of knowledge and skill to provide the necessary care and assistance to the patients.
Unfortunately, many families do not live together nowadays, and some people do not have any family members to rely on. When they become sick, there is nobody to help them. Hence, the need to build compassionate communities to help to care for those who are severely ill within the community.
